Why Work With a Coach?

And why I chose to do this work.

Let me start by saying this:
You are not broken. You do not need to be fixed.
But sometimes — life gets noisy. Heavy. Confusing.
You lose sight of yourself beneath all the roles, routines, and responsibilities.
That’s where coaching comes in.
And that’s why I became a coach.

Let’s be honest: most of us weren’t taught how to pause and ask, “What do I really want?” We were taught to cope. To keep going. To tick the boxes, play the roles, and maybe—if there’s time—circle back to ourselves later. Coaching is what happens when you decide that “later” is now.

So, why coaching?

Because we all reach a point where the version of ourselves we’ve been performing… just doesn’t fit anymore. Sometimes it’s subtle — a quiet itch for something more. Sometimes it’s loud — burnout, breakdown, or a big life shake-up. Either way, it’s a signal. A nudge. A moment that says: Something’s shifting. Let’s pay attention.

Coaching gives you a place to do exactly that. Not to be fixed — you’re not broken. But to be seen. Heard. Understood. And gently challenged. To get clear on what matters, and move forward with purpose.

Why I chose this work

Before The Untold You, I spent over 20 years in the world of recruitment — deep-diving into CVs, sitting across from thousands of people, and doing what I’ve always done best: understanding humans. Not just what they do, but who they are underneath the polished answers. I’ve heard every version of “I’m fine” under the sun, and I’ve developed a bit of a sixth sense for spotting the gold in people they’ve forgotten is there.

That chapter taught me a lot:

  • How to really listen

  • How to ask questions that unlock something deeper

  • How to hold space when someone’s at a crossroads, or quietly falling apart beneath the surface

But more than anything, it taught me this: Most people are carrying untold stories. And most of them are incredibly brave for simply holding on.

Coaching, for me, isn’t about surface-level pep talks or shiny affirmations. It’s about truth, depth and discovery. It’s about standing beside you in the messy middle and helping you turn the page — with intention, not just momentum.

Who I help

If you’re at a crossroads — career, life, identity — or simply tired of pretending everything’s fine, this space is for you.

I work with people who are:

  • Questioning what’s next (or who they even are underneath the noise)

  • Stuck in jobs, roles, or patterns that used to make sense — but don’t anymore

  • Coming back to work after motherhood, and unsure who they are in this new chapter

  • Navigating burnout, change, or a quiet craving for something more

  • Ready to reconnect with themselves — fully, honestly, and without judgment

You don’t need to have a five-step plan. You just need to be willing to get curious.

The kinds of coaching I offer

At The Untold You, I offer three core pathways — each one tailored to meet you where you are, and help you move forward in a way that feels grounded, not performative.

Life Coaching - For when everything looks “fine” but something still feels off. This is the space to unearth your values, untangle the overwhelm, and rebuild a life that feels true, not just tolerable.

Career Coaching - For when your work life no longer aligns with who you are (or who you're becoming). We’ll dive into clarity, confidence, and creating a career that fits your life, not the other way around.

Back to You (Coaching for Mothers Returning to Work) - For women re-entering the workplace after maternity leave or extended caregiving. Together, we rebuild confidence, redefine what success looks like now, and create a return-to-work plan that honours both your ambition and your evolution.

Why it matters

The world doesn’t need more perfectly polished humans running on autopilot.
It needs people who are honest about where they are, brave enough to look inward, and supported enough to move forward with clarity.

That’s what this space is for.

If you’re ready to meet the version of you that’s been whispering beneath the noise — I’m here.
